Bowley was born in London, England and has worked as a professional contemporary artist since the early 1980's and conducted projects and exhibited works in the UK, Australia, Japan, and Canada, and been awarded various arts grants.

 

Employed as an art tutor and lecturer, designer and illustrator, director and curator of contemporary art centres, and worked with scientists (Entomologists and Herpetologists) as a technical illustrator.

 

By combining various production techniques, work sites (such as in museums), and engaging in collaborative processes, Bowley explores and presents a broad spectrum of ideas related to her interests and research.
