PROJECTS

Below are images of individual projects with short descriptions:

Technical drawing made for the Australian Entomologist Dr. D. McAlpine of a new species of Platystomatidae and refers to Janis Bowley, whose work “forms a significant contribution to Dipterology”.

Bowley also worked with Herpetologists and Lepidopterists. These drawings are made from material sourced from scanning electron microscope images of flies toes.

Series of ocean wave portraits - a separate constructed yet transitory form connected to the whole of the ocean body. Waves are made from wind, and the moon and sun's gravitational pull, and the friction between water and air, yet these too cannot be separated from each other.

Ongoing series of works using books as a starting point. Book print and structure are utilised to create related objects.

Exhibition work of specific 'found' configurations - an array of elements converging for each scenario, but any questions are unanswered, any conclusions are hidden. The images also converge with each other.

Over an approximately one year journey circumnavigating the continent I made a body of work of the natural world I encountered.

Experiment exploring communication using drawing and writing, about people separated by time and location.

Ongoing series of works using books as a starting point. Book print and structure are utilised to create related objects.

A series of drawings of objects from UK museum collections. Each drawing is a 'portal' to stories of endangerment or extinction, while suggesting there are other possibilities. We can create memories of possible futures.
